Who we are

NM Honeybees is a family-owned beekeeping business owned by three sisters—Natalie, Mary, and Hannah Clayshulte—who share a deep love for nature and the golden gifts of the hive. Nestled in the heart of Mesilla, New Mexico, our bees play a vital role in pollinating the region’s agricultural crops, enriching both the land and our community.

At the heart of our craft is managing partner Natalie, whose background in Western herbalism fuels her passion for creating natural self-care products. By blending the wisdom of herbalism with the healing properties of apitherapy, she carefully formulates honey-infused and beeswax-based products that nourish the body and soothe the soul.

From hive to jar, every product we offer is a reflection of our commitment to quality, purity, and the natural harmony between bees and botanicals.

Generations of Craft

Beekeeping has been a part of our family for generations. Our great-grandfather, Nelson “Ned” Clayshulte, began tending hives in 1909, passing down his knowledge and passion for bees. Our grandfather, John “Tuffy” Clayshulte, continued the tradition, caring for the apiary while our grandmother, Wilma Jeanne Clayshulte, sold honey from the “honey room” in the back of their home. Our father, Nelson Clayshulte, who grew up working with the hives as a child, later took over and nurtured the business. Now, he has passed the legacy on to us, allowing us to continue the tradition of beekeeping and sharing the gifts of the hive with our community.
